Modern courtyards often use active relief — geoplastics — to create an interesting environment for relaxation or children's play.
In our project with Etalon Group for the Nagatino Ai-Land residential complex (phase one), there's a courtyard where the relief and hills formed the basis for the master plan. This area looks like "living hills," harbouring fairytale adventures and shared journeys.
For this project, we created a variety of custom forms, from play elements to canopies. The active relief helps highlight various functions, provide shelter for the playground, reduce noise, and diversify the courtyard's perception. The landscape design (the arrangement of plants, grasses, and flowers) is inspired by the late works of the great Piet Oudolf.

The playgrounds feature a playful take on hobbit-style houses — consisting of several mounds with integrated developmental play equipment — as well as engaging climbing structures.
